Good Morning

Slept relatively well  last night.

First, here's my post from last night.

Off to bed shortly after my first day. I've slept on and off all day.
But it is COLD here! I plan to buy some long underwear and an alpaca/
llama/something sweater. Tomorrow I have an orientation at 10a and
then Spanish from 2-6.

Meals so far have been decent. Lunch was hard boiled eggs and potatoes
together in a peanut sauce. Not sure how I felt about that one. Dinner
was quite good. Pan fried chicken, more potatoes, and some sliced
tomatoes. Both meals also had bread and my understanding is that the
diet is very carby.

The house is pretty quiet. Last week apparently there were like 12
people here. Now there's maybe half that. My housemates have some
interesting stories. One works for Maximo teaching English. Two are
from England and have traveled through Austealia and New Zealand for
the past 3 months. A third is from England and one from I believe
Alabama.

I've been drinking coca tea all day to warm up and help with altitude
sickness. No headache yet but still get out of breath easily.

Can't wait to see how tomorrow goes.

This morning I had my orientation. They went over some basics of the company, some etiquette (don't refuse a gift unless you have a good reason), and over 24 h after I arrived they told me no tp in the toilets. Luckily I already knew that. I went to the PATAS office for tour info. It looks like I will be doing a city tour on Saturday, 4 ruins on Sunday, and then from those ruins I will take a train to the world reknown Macchu Pichu. And I think I spelled it wrong. I'm also working on planning a trip to Puno and Lake Titicaca for the following weekend.

I also attempted to exchange some money. The first bill had a tiny tear in it, about 1cm. Apparently that is not acceptable here, so it looks like I'll be carrying around a 10USD bill for awhile. Luckily I had some other money to exchange. I need to find an ATM and withdraw some more. I honestly don't know how much to get.

I still have no headache, but I've had a little bit of a stomach ache ever since my flight from Miami. I'm staying hydrated so I hope that helps. Breakfast this morning was cereal of mixed grains and dried fruit, and of course toast. I think I might need to find some peanut butter or something.
