Goodbye Peru

Last night in Cusco; I leave early tomorrow morning. After waking up early to see my friends off and then sleeping in late (read 9) I attempted to shower in boiling hot water. It was rather painful, but it was that or ice cold. Lunch was a nice creamy pumpkin or squash soup.

In the afternoon, I went to San Blas, an artsy part of town, with Rochelle. We browsed the artwork and trinkets, and surprisingly quite a few were handmade and more original than everything else around the city.

We walked home, about 1 hour, and stopped along the way at a cake shop. I picked up two cakes, one for Patricia, and one for Totie, our wonderful housekeeper.

Our dinner was chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, and carrots. We had one of the cakes for dessert and it was delicious! Chocolate cake, sliced peaches on top, and I believe a strawberry filing in the middle, all with a vanilla frosting.

I get up tomorrow around 5, and still have to pack a few things.

Goodbye Peru, hello Guatemala!
